a fire’s started in this dark woods. my mind as a dark forest.
It’s just begun raining again (during the night) for the first time in 6 or more months. In Oakland, it occurred to me, homes don’t provide shelter from the elements. What keeps us inside is the danger perceived to be lurking on the streets. I’ve never known a place where I’ve felt so discouraged from being present outdoors after dark—in a place where the weather is temperate all the time. How can this be so disconnected?
Some more Seattle photos to share, now that I’m back (as in I’m Back) in the Bay. It was a very nice visit, and I even got to ride around on a sweet bike all day yesterday, but it left me utterly exhausted. Felt great to come home and nap, eat lunch, do laundry, etc. Home sweet Oakland.
Anyway, I really liked this mural.
